Although the Nike LeBron 18 Low has not yet been released, the Swoosh and The King already have new plans to further expand the LeBron 18 line. Following the icy, grade school-exclusive “Blue Tint” NRG that dropped in Asia, a new red and blue arrangement detailed with traditional emblems in celebration of Chinese New Year.
The Knitposite 2.0 uppers are drenched in a bold red, contrasted by blue laces and white overlays on the tongue for a color scheme reflecting the overtly festive colors associated with the annual festivities. Chinese text reading “Gong Xi Fa Cai”, meaning “happy new year” is shown in a graffiti design devised by 400ml, a graffiti creative unit in China whom Nike and the retailer DEAL have partnered with for an exclusive capsule collection. Furthering the festive theme, the translucent, molded TPU heel counter is tinted in the aforementioned blue and uses a water droplet-like texture as an ode to the phrase “getting out when you encounter water”. Furthermore, the fish scale-inspired accents on the tongue symbolize having abundance year after year. The celebratory style is complete with a special logo on the insole that mimics traditional window grilles.
Grab a pair when they arrive at Nike.com and select Chinese retailers on February 6th, for $200.
