slowthai and Skepta Recreate Classic Horror Films in New “CANCELLED” Music Video

Due to circumstances unforeseen, slowthai was unfortunately forced to push back the release date of his forthcoming album TYRON by a few weeks. However, now just days away from the launch, the Northampton-born artist has blessed us with his newest single “CANCELLED” that features Skepta, along with the song’s accompanying music video.

The bass-bumpin’ tune clocks in at a total of three minutes and 20 seconds and opens up with Skepta who spits his intro verse and dives into straight into the hook. The latter showcases him noting the ever-iconic Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury — the annual five-day festival that is hosted in Pilton, Somerset, in England. From there, slowthai jumps on the mic and spits his aggressive bars, and playfully shouts out films like Harry Potter and Ong Bak — a Thai martial arts trilogy.

The visual here is one of middleweight gore as both British MC’s take us through an adventurous montage of recreated horror films. The opening scene shows both rappers on the phone with each other comically acting out the famous “Whassup?” scene from Scary Movie, but flipping it in their own parlance by yelling “Wagwaaan?”. The remainder of the video also displays reimagined frames from flicks like Candyman, Nightmare on Elm Street, American Psycho, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Silence of the Lambs.

Peep the clip here above, and note that TYRON is slated to officially drop on February 12 via Spotify and Apple Music.

Elsewhere within music, Lil Durk and Only The Family have announced a ‘Loyal Bros’ compilation record.
