Nicolas Ghesquière’s Muses Take Center Stage for Louis Vuitton’s SS21 Campaign

After announcing Naomi Osaka as the luxury house’s latest ambassador, Louis Vuitton‘s artistic director of women’s collections, Nicolas Ghesquière, has introduced the completed Spring/Summer 2021 campaign. From Osaka to Jaden Smith to Liu Yifei, the imagery demonstrates a refutation of gender while highlighting some of the new bags and apparel imagined for the latest collection.

Accompanying the aforementioned celebrities are the likes of Halle and Chloé Bailey, Jennifer Connelly, Sophie Turner, Carolyn Murphy, Angelica Ross, Laura Harrier and Cody Fern, all lensed by Ghesquière himself in various stages of relaxation. Throughout, all of the impromptu models showcase the stars of the season: new handbags laden with Louis Vuitton’s unmistakable monogram.

The latest iterations of the Coussin and Rendez-vous — which can be seen on, among others, Jaden Smith and Emma Stone, respectively — demonstrate Ghesquière’s disregard for gender norms by way of versatile, effortless shapes useful for daily wear. Each bag’s subdued color palette plays nicely against the bright, printed layering pieces, slouchy knits and militaristic layering pieces that appear throughout.

Items from the SS21 collection has already begun to hit Louis Vuitton’s website and flagship boutiques. Look for the campaign imagery to appear in print magazines by March 2021.

Most recently, Virgil Abloh, the house’s artistic director of men’s, welcomed guests to an immersive “Temporary Residency” on Rodeo Drive.
