Freddie Gibbs and ScHoolboy Q Drop Breezy Collab “Gang Signs”

Freddie Gibbs and ScHoolboy Q are truly men of their word, dropping off their collaborative track “Gang Signs” after spending the week teasing fans on Twitter.

Clocking in at two-and-a-half minutes, the cut hears the pair deliver melodic bars over beautiful selections of warm horns, breezy keys and a chilled out bassline. Kane and Q reflect on their street pasts and its impact on their separate successes, adding a layer of rough lyricism that contrasts the relaxing beat.

“Gang Signs” also arrives with a surreal music video from Aaron Hymes and Gabriel Alcala, and sees Gibbs as a gangster rabbit riding around in the real world and getting his money. Q, on the other hand, is a cheery turtle that has some business of his own, and the visual ends with the two riding into the sunset.

“I was just trying to pay homage to do or die and bone thugs n harmony when I made this song,” Gibbs said in a statement. “That’s the era I grew up on. It was long overdue for me and Q to do a record.”
